As a mom who has just witnessed her sons Navy boot camp graduation, let me share a few things about those that serve our country. They make so many sacrifices for us. Things you take for granted, habits you have and daily activities you engage in aren't part of the lives of those enlisted in active duty. As a new Navy mom, I don't understand those that put down our military. I'd like to escourt them to the nearest MEPS and allow them to go through a few sleepless nights and drills that test your mental and physical ability. Whether you subscribe to the whole military idea or not, think about the individuals that make up the operation and test your compassion on a level deeper than self love. There is no greater show of love than for a man to lay down his life for another. Whether those in active duty ever die serving or not is beside the point. They have laid down the life they knew for us. We owe them so much.

Thank you to those that are serving and to those that have served in the past. I understand it now and realize the awesome sacrifices you've made. Our country owes you so much.

Back to reviewing books! This is going to be a great year for readers.
