The Cat's in the Cradle

Cat Stevens is really Yusuf Islam. And Islamic, by the way.

What I don't understand after reading the article is this. He called out to God, he confirms that God answered him, yet he turned to the Islamic religion. God and the Islamic religion are on opposite ends of the spectrum. How do you go from acknowledging God answered you to thinking Islamic beliefs are Godly? OR, because of God answering him, did he open his spiritual mind to embrace whatever met him first-which happened to be the Koran?

I don't get into religious arguments because the beliefs vary with each individual. However, even a toddler playing the "What doesn't belong" game could varify God and Islamic beliefs don't belong together.
