Is the government breaking up the family?

Very good article concerning the government paying you to actually split up your family. Oh, it's not that obvious, but still it's real. I was the Director for a non-profit organization that helped assist low income families and I can tell story after story of how the government assisted a single mom yet left the retired mom or family with a dad out of work out of benefits. Somethings wrong here and has been for a while. Any suggestions?
